Walk into a school that has a strong internal competition culture and you feel it immediately. There is noise in the hallways that has nothing to do with chaos and everything to do with energy. Students know where they belong. They wear colors that mean something. They talk about events that haven’t happened yet and results from ones that did. Somewhere near the front office or main stairwell there is a scoreboard that students glance at the way sports fans check standings. T
